Help! battery keeps draining down, & brake light fuse keeps blowing!

This just happened all at once in my 89 Iroc.
First I noticed the brake lights weren't working. Looked at the fuses and the 25A brake light fuse was blown. I replaced it and it immediately blew again. So I just forgot about it for a week (I also have a 97 TA that I drive all the time). Anyway (1-2 weeks later) I tried to start it and it was completely dead. It wouldn't hardly even jump start. So I get a new Interstate battery. The next day it's already completely dead again. I'm thinking there must be a short to ground somewhere, but I'm not sure where to start.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Any ideas?

TIA!

never had it happen but i'd say you're right, must be a short, duh. the wires are fairly easy to trace to the back half of the car. you can buy a short locator and maybe save yourself soem time and effort. good luck

Last year some guy stopped me on my way home to tell me my brake lights weren't working...I got home checked and saw the fuse was blown...changed the fuse..stepped on the brake..lights came on for a second and the fuse blew right away...my problem ended up being a bad third brake light, I replaced the bulb and everything was fine.
