Headers and dipstick, do not fit!!!

This is my second question, on my 82 Z, i just put on the Edelbrock TES headers, and now I cannot get my dip stick holder to fit around the headers, do they make special holders for headers? I tried to heat bend mine, and it just got brittle and broke on me, this is a pain in the butt, someone please give me any tricks of the trade or tell me what i can do, thanks again!!

Nate

I don't remembet how but mine fit on my 92 firebird. You have to put it in as you put the header on. Like when it's hanging right by the head not bolted on yet. Place it and then tighten up the header. Dont remember exaclty. It'll fit, trial and error, don't force anything to hard.

I know what you are going through. I pulled out my dipstick tube when I put my TES system on and couldn't get it back it right. When I finally did, the dipstick wouldn't fit back in. Eventually, someone stepped on it while I stored it on the patio until I had time to mess with it. I eventually got a new one that is chrome. Either that one is not long enough or the oil doesn't stick to the chrome tip... so it is basically useless.

I didn't have the same problems as you guys did. I had trouble trying to get the dipstick out as per the instructions. Lost my paitence and just left in on while I installed the right side header. I had to push the dipstick in toward the block to get it to fit between the A.I.R. tube and header flange. Worked like a champ though.
