Idle Problems

I got a situation on my IROC that is giving me fits. I adjusted the IAC as per GM manual, and when I took it for a test drive upon returning home it would idle at 1000 RPM in park @ 220 Deg. I turned the motor off, waited 10 minutes and restarted four consecutive times. Here is what I got at each start

1. took a little longer than I expected to crank for being warm, idled @ 900 RPM in Park, reved motor a bit, shut off.

2. started right up, idled at 1000 in park, rpms started to slightly increase, reved motor a bit, shut off.

3. Started right up 1500 rpm in park. reved motor a bit, shut off.

4. Started up and idled at 750 in park (where I would like it).

Does anyone have anyclue what could be causing this. It is making me loco. I would greatly appreciate any insight from other members.:hail:

I'm in the same boat.

1.- Check clean IAC passages.
2.- Check vacuum leak.
3.- Check Air leak (connections air filter, air intake, etc.)
4.- It's IAC adjustment or TPS adjust?. Re-check tech article about this.
5.- Check normal temperature operation in adjust. process.
