help a newbie out replaced column now its not right
ok guys heres my setup 87 z28 305 carberated 700r4 w/cruze control.heres what happened monday night my car was stolen when the cops found it the colomn was smashed.so to the junkyard i went.couldnt find a colomn with both tilt and cruze so i settled cruze went bye bye.after i installed it i pluged it all in with the exception of the cable on the top of the colomn cant figure out what it is.cant get it to hookup.now when i start the car let it idle til operating temp then stomp the gas when in drive it wants to stall then pops then goes.if i drive it for a while then stomp on it it will go but it feels like it lost power im clueless help me out guys

I think that the cable your talking about is the one that doesn't let you take the car out of park unless the key is on. That wouldn't make your engine run bad though. What year is your column from? I don't know if LG4's have an electric choke but maybe you should test to see if it's working. If your car is using alot of gas then your choke is probably not opening. My car ran like yours once after I was tweekin it and I noticed my air/fuel ratio was real rich. Turns out I forgot to reconnect the choke.

should have just got the tilt column... you probly only needed the caseing
i fixed my column when they busted it in a attempt to steal my car (VATS saved it from being stolen)
you take off the wheel, take off the plate and basicly just take the upper column apart, then put the new casing on and put it back together.
yours looked like this when busted right?

mine was almost like that but a little worse i replaced it with a non cruze column w/tilt.i dunno the car is running like ****.looks like project 350 has to hustle
