engine question
I did a oil change earlier and afterwards, I think all heck broke loose because of it lol. It still runs fine but if you rev it towards the higher range theres an odd metallic popping noise coming from it! If it helps any, theres oil leaking from the catylic converter(sounds strange, any help on that one would help), any idea whats happening?

I hope that you did one of the two things I'm about to mention.
Either you spilled a lot of oil and it's running down the exhaust pipes, meeting at the cat, and dripping off the flange....
Or you poured oil straight into the carb!!!
Perhaps a valve cover is loose? Did you remove either one of them for any reason and forget to tighten it? Or did you replace the oil filler cap on the valve cover?
If you didn't do any of those, the ONLY way oil would be pouring out of the cat would be if it were getting straight into the exhaust manifold(s) somehow.
If it were getting in through the cylinder, you would also have a HUGE amount of smoke coming out the tailpipe(s). Do you?
That's the only thing I can think of.
If it is getting into the cylinder(s), the only way it can do that is either through the intake runner(s), or through one of the intake valves (either a leaky seal, or a worn guide.)
Either of those would be a strange occurance since all you did was change the oil.
OH!!!!!
Did you put on a new filter? Or make sure it was tight? And did you make sure the old seal came off with the old filter?
Those could also cause the noise and excessive oil around that area.
