most affordable custom piston manufacturer?

Anybody have any experience with having a set of custom slugs made? I think that's my best bet considering my crank stroke of 3.8". I've seen a wide range of prices and I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for.

IIRC, that's the same stroke as the GM 383 Torque thing-a-ma-boob (whatever they call it.)

Contact your local GM Performance Parts dealer and see if they can get you some.

Or you can try www.SDPC2000.com , www.PaceParts.com , www.bgcperformanceparts.com (Burt Greenwald Chevrolet), or www.GMPartsDirect.com

Maybe they can get you oversized (.030,.040, or .060") pistons?

Yup, sure is. That's where I got it. 4340 crank. Had to upgrade the rods, figured I'd do the pistons too so my entire assembly is forged. GM only sells 4.0" and 4.030" bore hyperutectic replacment pistons for those motors. Availability of connecting rods is practically non-existent since I keep getting told the manufacturer went out of business (even though the engine is still in production). It's nothing more than a studded PM rod.
