if they're that bad replace the inner and outter as well as the sleeve that connects them. easy job, but you'll need a tie rod seperator aka pickle fork.

I'm not sure if this is what your talking about, but if its those piecews that you turn to do alignment, mine were rusted too, when i had to get alignment, they told me they couldn't do it. A little WD40 and like ten minutes later i had em turning just fine.

Papa,

When you assembly the new tie rod sleeves to the new tie rod ends, put a liberal coating of anti-seize compound on all the threads. If you are planning to keep your car for more than a couple of years, you'll appreciate it later. Do the same thing on the tapers for the tie rod ends, and the castleated nuts that hold the tie rods in. Torque the nuts to spec, install the pins, and forget about rust.

Hey I just want to let you guys know....the tie Rods went on and off with out a hitch. Took about 3 horus to do both sides and only cost me about 120 bucks. If I can make one suggestion for anyone who decides to tackle this project next......find your self a nice heavy 9 lb hammer. 5 hits with that thing and poof it is off. I tried for about 30 with a regular one....man did I get tired. Well thanks for all the help guys.
