Blue smoke when started cold
Good day. I've noticed that when I start the car cold, I get a poof of bluish-white smoke. I'm guessing I'm buring oil somehow. I have to add oil every few days (just a half-quart). It doesn't blow smoke once it's started. I don't have milky oil nor does my coolant have oily crud in it. I've yet to pull my plugs, that's for the weekend. I was aleady planning on rebuilding the engine, but does it sould like I need to this soon? Hope I'm not freaking out over nothing.

it's the valve seals.
1/2 quart every few days? hm... thats quite a bit.
I had my seals replaced, and here 5 months later It's starting to blow a little smoke when I start, but only after the car has been sitting for a few days straight.
this is a very common problem with the chevy engines, but I don't think it's really a "problem" aside from having to add oil every now and then.
