plz help! dies on me not sure why.

Alright, this has happened a few times on me now. My car will act normal for a while and then when I hit the gas I get nothing and my car dies. When this happneded to me last I just waited a few and then it started right up. I have no idea why but hey. So the problem occurs when I hit the gas only, which leads me to believe its not something major but instead something like a vacume leak or something electrical prehaps... please enlighten me and give me ideas people. keep in mind that i am still learning and spell it out for me. Diagrams are great haha thanks...

my car is sitting on the side of the road right now and that really, really sucks. when this same thing happened to me before the car would start up after a bit, but this time it would not restart. So frustrating PLEASE help me guys. (if you know a good mechanic or a cheap mechanic in the nortern virginia area let me know, either would be helpful.

What is your fuel pressure at the rail? My guess is that your getting enough gas at idle to keep it running, but as soon as you try to accellerate and the engine needs more gas it dies. Fuel pump, fuel filter, or faulty pressure regulator? Do you have the MAF attached to the plenum tightly? If not, it could be telling the computer to lean the engine out so much it's dying.

If it was a vaccuum leak, it would idle worse and probably stay running when at higher RPM's.

Good luck,
Matt
