If I remember correctly, there is a little tab on the end of the iron that slips into a spot in the frame, and then the big screw thing goes through the handle...maybe?

So it sort of sits on top of the jack i think. But even when you know where it goes it takes five or six tries to get it put in there right.

On mine, the tire iron's little end supposed to slide into a hole at one end of the jack. The angled end of the tire iron (with the socket for the lugs) then cradles the other end of the jack, and gets held down with some kind of tab.

Of course, I don't have the tab. Instead, I've wrapped the jack in some old rags, and wedged it between the spare tire and car body.
