Emission Problems
I have a 1987 Camaro with a 305 with the Rochester carb. I am geting fuel from the hose that runs from the carb to the vapor canister. I checked the canister it self and there is no fuel smell from the filter underneath. So my question is, What would cause this? I checked my Hayes manual and it doesen't say much to help. Thanks.
P.S. I am also get a large Puff of black smoke from the exhaust when I get in it. and a little when I drive normaly. also the computer is not throwing any codes.

Maybe your mixture control solenoid is bad or somthing else in the carb that is causing it to run rich. Like a stuck float.

Wouldn't the Mixture control solenoid throw a code in the Computer. also is there a way to check the flot without taking the carb apart.
