It's alive! 355 Vortec+Hot cam

I just finished getting my melonized gear from GM to finish My swap from XE268 cam to LT4 hot cam. It fired right up and after some valve lash adjustments I took it for a short ride. The idle sounds awsome, sort of chppy like the 268 only better. The torque increase was amazing and it just runs like the beast I knew it always was. Maybe I will get into the 13's now.(13's here are 12's at sea level). I'll post times for sure the next time I go to the track. I heard that this cam comes to life above 4000 and I've only taken it to 3000 and I still like it better than ole 268. Rollers rule

I'm not sure what kind of cam it is but it's sure a great cam. The torque band is matched perfectly to my converter and it pulls hard up to.... well, I only took it to 5600 and it was still pulling.

The HOT cams .492 lift(w/1.5 aluminum roller rockers) is perfect for my vortecs since they flow best around .500. I was thinking about going to 1.6's but it runs awsome now and .525 lift is more lift than I would want to put on my Comp 981 springs, even though they out perform GM's LT4's. I don't want to spend another 180 bucks on rockers when I already have a good set.

Comp 981 GM LT4/ ZZ4
Installed 110#@1.70 101#@1.78
Open 295#@1.250 250#@1.33
Rate 417 lbs/in 332lbs/in
Coil Bind 1.150 1.22

GM recommends not going over .525 lift with their springs and Comp recommends not going over .490<-?(don't ask me why) but I think .492 or .525 is OK
