Drivers side running rich
Drivers side running rich
I pulled the plugs on the engine to see what could be causing stumbling at idle. All the plugs on the drivers side of the engine were coated with carbon, the passenger side looked perfect though. Any thoughts as to what could be causing it. Car in question is 89 IROC with 305 tpi.

Chris,
Welcome aboard!
The lean/rich condition is probably less related to fuel delivery and more likely due to a leak in an intake gasket, mismatched components, or an ECM problem.
What kind of fuel system/year/engine do you have?

Its an 89 with 305 tpi. Basically stock engine. I have noticed that the first injector on the drivers side looks physically different that the other three but could that cause the entire side to run rich? If the gasket is leaking would it be on the passenger side (a leaking side would be lean right?)
Thanks
Chris
