Accel 8mm wires...assembly...

Right, so I fold the wire, crimp the terminal. Lube up that boot REAL nice...yea, it goes 3/4 of the way in, then I can't get it in any further, tried pulling it out, yea, lost that terminal in the boot.

Am I the only one struggling to get the damn terminal/wire into the boot? Any tips? I've got boat loads of silcone lube and other lubes (haha no, it's for my paintball gun) I tried dow corning lube and it didn't help. Once you get it in past the terminal and theres like 1/8" left, there's nothing but wire left to push, and i couldnt' get it in any further.

Accel was nice enough to put in 10 boots/terminals even though there are only 8 plug wires and 1 coil wire, so I still have enough left to do them all. I'm not going to try any more until I know I can get them all the way in.

I don't know about anyone else on these boards but I've found that the Accel wires and straight boots are absolutely terrible when it comes (re)crimping.

They ALWAYS pull off and are a major pain. You'll probably find that even when you pull the lead off the plug, the terminal will stay attached to the plug and you'll have a plug lead in your hand thinking to yourself *wtf - I paid $50.00 for this??* After a year or two, you'll have 8 (or 6 - i dunno) plug leads that are about a foot shorter than when you started because of all the re-crimping. It happened to me and I'll never use the straight boots again with Accel.

My best recommendation would be to either use the Accel 90 degree boots and terminals (which don't pull off) or find something other than Accel.

I pushed an oversized brass rod into the boots to stretch them a bit.
