Removing ECM and wiring harness from under the hood
Removing ECM and wiring harness from under the hood
A little while ago I did an engine swap and changed the motor in my 86 Trans AM, removed the stock LG4 and replaced it with a L98 out of a 91 Z28. In the process we removed the TPI setup and proceeded to add an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and Edelbrock Performer carb and effectivley seemed to eliminate the ECM all together.
But, I want to know, now that I've done this... is there anything on my machine that needs that computer before I tuck all those wires into the fender and clean the engine bay up? I'd like ta do it because as it stand right now its looking pretty messy up there and theres alot of wires that aren't running to anything.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks!

the engine harness does not carry any other wires most of the time. I would UNHOOK all connectors and remove the old harness do not chop it. Never know when it might come in handy to you or maybe someone else.
