Here's some good info that helped me before I bought mine.

Usually they use a 350 4bolt main. bored 30over, longer rods, aftermarket crank and if ya get crazy with it you'll need oversized pistions too.
An article I found: Originally, this mod was invented by using the crankshaft from a Chevy 400 cid engine, but since those were out of style years ago already, it was a bit of a pain and so nowadays a new, custom aftermarket "stroker" crankshaft design can be had for an affordable price. Indeed, such a new steel crankshaft is the centerpiece of my 383. With the new dimensions, the 350 gains some extra cubic-inch displacement (cid), plus the small gain from boring the cylinders out 0.030" over (a standard procedure, almost always done when rebuilding a car engine, whether modifying it or just rebuilding it to stock specs). when the engine's combustion chambers fire and push the pistons down, the connecting rods (which connect the piston to the rod, changing linear, reciprocal motion into rotational force) have more leverage. As a result, the *torque* of the engine is substantially increased - and increased torque is especially beneficial.
Hope this helped.

Isn't there some machine work that much be done to the crankshaft or block itself? Or maybe some machining on the block for the 6'' rods?
Ive heard there is new stroker 350 cranks out that don't require machining but I don't know.

thanks nozz, but does a 4-bolt main have to be used??? i heard they were stronger...but i'm not sure...and do you know some prices on getting stuff machined??? my buddy 88camaro350 already asked, but i mean like some heads ported, block bored and machined-cleaned??? i don't have any idea how much that stuff is...but prolly a pretty penny!!!thanks
