why is she limping??
I just swapped out my old 305 tbi for a 350 tbi from a cop car and I seem to be having this annoying problem every once in a while. I drive about 100 miles a day to and from work and about once or twice a week the engine will just dramatically drop hp. It only seems to happen when I accelerate from a full stop. I feel it pull hard like it's supposed to for the first second and all of a sudden I feel it almost die on me, a significant loss of hp. And as soon as it does that, sure enough, the check engine light comes on. I usually pull over and shut the car off to reset everything, and the car runs perfectly again. All my gauges are reading fine and don't give me any problems, so I'm hoping it's just an electrical thing that can be fixed easily. This problem isn't enough for me to cry about it because it only happens maybe once a week, but it surely is a pain sometimes. Here's a rundown of all the stuff I have done to the car:
350 tbi w/ 350 knock sensor
2.02 heads
350 caprice fuel injectors
edelbrock open element with k&n filter
flowtech headers
hollowed cat
flowmaster series 80 muffler
350 chip burned from tbichips
new distributor and cap
taylor 8mm wires w/ bosch platinum +4s
new battery
B&M shift improver kit
TCI Saturday Night Special TC

what codes is the ecm giving? Retrieve the codes and post back and maybe that will give some insight into what is going on.
Well, I can't really get a code from it because it always resets after I shut the car off. I dunno if I could let it idle while I start ripping that crap out, but I don't really wanna mess with it too much.
