I blew the BOP TH350 tranny up in my Grand Prix, I know it was only a matter of time, but I'm SUPER strapped for cash right now, and my friend gave me a FREE TH350 replacement tranny, only problem is its a CHEVY th350, the caddillac motor in my Grand Prix has a Buick Olds Pontiac bellhousing pattern on it. But...summit sells an adapter plate to use a BOP engine with a chevy tranny...but they have no idea how it works and they don't know any details...does anybody know how these work?? do i need to buy anything else besides the adapter kit???? Its $54, so if it works I'll have my grand prix running again for one days work in tips (pizza hut )

There's no replacement for displacement!

 

They have flat-head countersunk screws that fasten them to the engine, and tapped holes for the trans bolts. Usually there has to be a spacer somewhere in the moving parts as well, to take up the extra room.

People are dying for Chevy case 350s... if I were you, I'd call the local trans shops and offer to trade a Chevy core for a ready-to-run BOP unit, and see how far I could get that way... as always, trying to cheap out by "using what you've got" even when it doesn't fit will cost you more than doing it right...
