LT1 intake swap
LT1 intake swap
first of all if this is the wrong place to post this thread let me know - ok i've been reading a little about it, and i checked out lt1intake.com, but i still have a few questions.. what harness and ecm do i use? should i modify my TPI harness or get an LT1 harness and ecm, and if i need the LT1 harness/ecm what year is the best? OBDI or OBDII? and im guessing the LT4 intake wont work due to the higher ports, is this true? where can i get a lot of info on this topic? also, is there a different intake setup that will flow better (in the high end) for the same approximate price?
I'd suggest using the TPI harness. There should be very little modification if you get the LT1 intake machined for a regular distributor. A stock TPI ECM would go with that.
You can get a lot of information if you perform an archive search.

ok, now i know a little more and need some opinions - which would be better for top end (6500-7500) stealth ram or LT1? im expecting to hear that neither will be good for that high of rpms but as far as i know these are my only options due to $$$

Just did my LT1 intake conversion from John, it pulls plenty hard up to 6000, seems like it can go higher, but i have a pretty small hydraulic cam on my 406, as i am getting into road racing, so i dont try to go higher.
