I was under the car with the motor running playing "find that leak" and I noticed some mechanical noise from the rotating assy. through the bottom of the pan. Its not real lound, just sort of a repeating metallic sound thats in harmony with teh engines rpms. Doesnt really sound low enough or loud enough to be anythign serious, just seems unusual to me. I always thaught that with the oil between the bearings it would be nearly quite operation at idle, aside from the exaust note. Is some noise normal, or is it a possible indicator of problems down the road? It might be me just being overly paranoid but this eninges been seeing 300-500 miles/week of heavy commuting with lots of high load operation for the past two years.
