car is running like its flooded at start up.
I noticed today that the start up smoke that I see is different than I thought, the car starts up fine but sputters and smokes for a couple minutes like a carb. engine would if the choke was closed and it was flooding ...then runs smooth and no smoke, the smoke is like gas smoke .....If I keep my foot on the accelerator and keep the rpm's up at start up it clears out faster, what the heck is up with it,its TPI and runs super other than this, any ideas?? I know it had a Holley fuel pump installed in the tank before I bought it would that have anything to do with it,too much gas or something,im lost

yes, fuel injectors will leak after time, and they drip and drip, which causes it to almost flood.....when you start it up it takes a little cranking to start then blows out a puff of blackish grayish really gassy smellying smoke which is the burn off of the gas that has been leaking threw while the engine was shut off. If you try a search and read some of the posts im willing to bet thats your problem
