1 Groove Pulley or 6 Groove Pulley for my Alt?

How do I distinguish to see if I have a 1 groove pulley or 6 groove pulley?? I need to buy an alternator and need to know which one I have. Thanks.

Look at the alt and look at the pulley on the crank that runs the alt, it will have either a single V groove or it will look like a serp. belt goes on it (ribbed belt)
In 86 it should have come with a ribbed belt from the factory (6 little grooves)
