MY 2.8 v-6 is acting very weird the car runs great when cold but it builds up a lot of pressure and when u turn the gas cap alot of fumes come out, to many, the car sucks gas like a monster, and the car shuts off sometimes while in traffic(very annoying and embarassing) i have a flow master muffler on the back i was thinking maybe its heating up my tank but theres a heat shield there. i also have a new fuel pump but my tank has some rust in it as well. please help the car is my daily driver and i need it fixed asap thnk you

no i dont think thats it becuz the fillerneck gets warm and the car still runs

 

Are you using a vented or non-vented gas cap. Also, there should be a plastic vent coming off your gas tank, can be seen by looking under rear of car near left wheel well. It needs to be changed every so ofter.
