another hatch motor problem

well i finally got around to fixing my hatch motor after i figured out the problem, which was a broken housing. so i went to the store and bought a new housing for $30 and went to it today. it was actually a lot easier than i thought and i got it in and its sorta working now but i found out that theres another piece broken two, its those plastic pieces that slide up and down that are supposed to be attached to the actual motor...they are completly shot. i need to know what these things are specifically called...(struts maybe?) so i can get that fixed too. this hatch motor is so frustrating i would love to know who the idiot was who decided it would be a nice feature to add to camaros...anyway i attached a picture so people would know what im talking about.

Yea, they are sliders. I purchased a set from Top-Down. You may have to use a file to get them to fit but they do the job.

Lon at Top Down Solutions is the man, he can walk you through whatever you need . I agree though, the pull down motor for the trunk is the dumbest thing GM could have spent money on when it comes to Camaros.

Dam. I didnt know you could buy those things so I spent a *** load of time making the thing that the sliders attach to out of 5/8 aluminum plate. It will never break tough.
