What kinda ET could this carb combo run?

It's my dad's car. It's a 78z28 with a 355, single plane highrise weind intake with spacer, stock 1.94intake 1.5 exhaust heads, a cam that would probably have around 240-250 duration at .050 lift, a 3000stall converter, 3.23 gears 28 inch tall BFG with no posi and 9to1 compression. I think it would only run mid to low 14's at about 98mph because of the heads but he insists it could hit 13's at like 100mph. He doesn't believe that aftermarket heads make a big difference, wrong!. Would some dart 190's or 210's wake that thing up about 50hp or am I just crazy. Oh and a 750 edelbrock carb.

What heads? There's a whole universe of heads with 1.94/1.50 valves, from crap to excellent. With some of them (the double-humps) he could easily be in the 12s, as they would match the rest of his combo; with others (882s for instance or worse, which is what it sounds like he might have) it would be a struggle to get to the 13s.

Regardless, you are right that he can improve it with aftermarket heads. That's true almost no matter what GM ones he has.

Good luck getting good times with that rear and suspension. Absolutely need posi or some (a) mighty sticky tires (right tire). Something to plant those rear tires also needed. You didn't say what tranny, but I'll assume a TH350. Those aren't stump-puller gears, either.

Might make the 100 mph mark, though.

Hey, you've got your time slip. Get him out there to get his!

I checked the casting numbers they are 882's. I mean these heads are probably off a truck or something. They are garbage in my opinion, the car gets off the line good because of the converter put starts pulling decent at 3500 then it marginially improves as the rpms go up. I will turn 6500rpms but is falling on it face by then. It feels like it peaks between 5500-5800rpms. Just making sure I was accurate in my assumption that the car probably wouldn't hit 13's. From a 20 mph roll my mom gunned it in her GTP (stock) with me and her in it and he said he kept it in second and didn't downshift(his kick down is gone) and my mom pulled a few lengths on him all the way up to about 75mph. He has some camel humps from a 67 camaro with 2.02 intakes and 1.6 exhaust valves but didn't want to use them because he doesn't plan on keeping his car for more than 1-2 more years and want to put those heads on his 67 camaro when(never in my opion) he gets around to restoring it. He also gunned it behind my uncle in his 97 Z28 auto 2.73's and said he slowly fell behind from a 10mph to 65mph sprint.

He is like I should go to the track, but never does. I will go if I can tune my damn car or covert it to TPI, I want to run with him in my 305. I think a 204/214 cam and TPI conversion would do it but I need to get a reliable eco car since my car would be OOC for a while.

The 882's are a 76cc combustion chamber, thin casting head with the equivilant flow characteristics of an iron L98 head. They can be equipped with bigger valves, but only if the intake and exhaust ports are worked over with a die grinder.

Your dad's car is probably hard-pressed to see 275 bhp... It's probably a low-14 sec car unless those heads have been worked on.
