i developed an oil leak from my distributor, so i pulled it to replace the gasket. when i put it all back together, it wouldnt start. so i checked to see if i was getting power to the distributor and i was, so i then pulled the cap to make sure the rotor was rotating, and it was. and now i am lost. any ideas what else to try? also in the proccess of cranking it, the engine sporatically make a lound puff, like a blow-off valve releasing. what is this all about? please help.

 

probably have the distributor 180 out. take it out again and turn in half way around and drop it back in.
