305 to 350 (heads TPI Question)
Im about to take my motor and trans out to convert to T56 and just to tidy up my engine bay etc etc.
While the engine is out<i am thinking of replacing the 305 with a 350.I dont at this moment want to go ZZ4 with HSR as I had intended,as the trans swop has proven quite expensive.
My 305 has Jr Sportsman Heads with 1.94"/1.5"valves,58cc chambers,171cc vol and actually uses a 350 head gsaket instead of a 305 gasket.
My question is,can i use these heads and my standard 305 TPI set up(bear in mind mines an 85 with crappy ECU).Will it work if i put bigger injectors in.I realise the TPI might strangle it a bit but at least i would have upgraded to a 350ci.I already have an AFPR,Cold air induction,Headers and 3"SLP exhaust
The other thing is ,would i benefit from 1;6 ratio rockers.I already have a mild cam which was especially for 305/350 TPI.I think i will have to open out the pushrod guide holes to fit these rockers???
What do you think
Thanks
