I'm wondering about the potential of the stock L98 engine, no modifications, stock cam, heads everything. For how much horsepower is this engine up?

i think they put out like 230-240 hp there is a tech page on the home page that will tell u exactly how much hp thow.

How much horsepower can it HANDLE, thats maybe a phrase which fits better.

ive seen built 350s putting out like 500 hp non asperated if you build it right it will hold up have you thought about turning it into a 383 stroker .

 

My fiance somewhere got this whacky thoughts to strengthen the engine of the car in my sig with better heads, cam and all this common stuff, so he wanted to know how much HP the block can actually handle. He would be better off thinking how many HE can handle seeing the expenses
And thats what I am good for: I won't allow him to modify this engine to hell anyway.

Someday this car shall be handed oldtimer plates and it won't get those plates if its not original. ***** Inspections!

 

I wouldn't even want to know what it would put out asperated!
