Best way to get at spark plugs?

I have an 1988 L03, from the top it seems like there is good bit of stuff in the way, would it be easier to go from the bottom or is top the best way?

yes

on my 83 lg4 even with all the smog crap removed i was only able to get to the first 4 from top down the last 4 you have to get from under neather the car with an open end box end rench or socket soem plugs you will be able to get to with the rachet and others you will have to use a rench it might take a wile but it is possible just keep at it.

My heater box is out and all the passenger side is WIDE open. The driver side is still a b!t(h though. Best bet is to go from the bottom like z28monster said.

I found that using a 3/8 drive rachet that has a hinged handle and assorted length extensions was a big help.

I could only get #1 plug from the top the rest came out from the bottom.

most spark plug sockets have an area for a wrench on one side. Use the ratchet on what you can, and use the socket and wrench for the rest. The best way I can describe how I do it is to "hug" the crossmember. That will give you the best possible angle on alot of them. I usually get the front 2 from above, and all the rest I get from underneath. Using this method I can knock out all 8 in under half an hour now. Not bad, considering when I had my first thirdgen 4 years ago it took me about 4 hours
