Has This Happened To You??

Hey, whats up everyone. Just recently I've expierianced a few problems, my car would not start. Turn the key and power to everything but motor wouldn't do a thing. Replaced the starter that was bad but not my answer, so I took it to a shop. The car wouldn't start so we had to turn the key to start and arc the starter, after doing so we drove it to a shop, I realized my security light is always now. The mechanic after checkin the car said the chip in my key is more then likely bad, its the only key I have so I can not test it, hes like almost positive thats what it is.

My question? Has anyone run into this kinda problem before with there chip going bad, if so did your car do the same kinda things as mine? I just kinda thought that those chips wouldn't go bad, so I'm just curious how many people have expierianced this. Sorry for the length, thank you. Later.
