Pushrod lenght? (hyd roller cam, '88 350 block, pre-86 AFR heads)
I bought AFR 190 early-style heads (#1006, non centerbolt) for my '88 350 block. It has hyd roller cam and lifters. It seems, that old pushrods (lenght appr. 7.2") are too short.
I have no specific tools to measure lenght of needed pushrod. I just tought, that maybe theres certain lenght, that I should add to pushrod lenght, when switching from centerbolt heads to non-centerbolt heads.
I found, that early-style engines use appr. 7.8" pushrods, but they don't use hyd roller cam and lifters.
So question is, what lenght pushrods should I buy?

A pushrod length checker is pretty cheap, and also cheap insurance against having the wrong lenght pushrods. I've put together similar engines with simailar valvetrains and have had the pushrod lengths come up different. that's you're best bet.
