accelerating and Idling prob

Sorry for length and possible miss spellings.

I have a 88 camaro iroc with 5.0 TPI I just finished puting my intake back on due to a stupid drilling accident but anyway, I can't get my car to run right. It seams to idle fine when i start the car but when i put it in gear or accelerate it runs ruff and staggers/misses i can't really put it in words. It happens when the car is hot and cold. I replaced the cap and rotor, there is some rust in the destributer but the magnetic field is fine and the modual is clean. I hung the coil on the fire wall with some mechanics wire and i also broke the hose that goes from the valve cover to the throttle body on the passenger side so i taped it with duct tape (a lot) and the hose going from the pcv to the intake is old and doesn't secure to the intake very firmly, Very loose. I also am 100% sure it's time for plug wires. I was thinking accel 8mm spiral core ones (good, bad? I need good but cheap these are $40. I refuse to put economy cheepy crap on this car. I try to go by the modo "the best isn't good enough when it's your own car" - budget permiting) This problem arised after the intake job so i upset something.

HELP ME

have you tried checking for vacuum leaks and timing? might also want to make sure all the plug wires are where they need to be, and fix the tune up since you say you know it needs wires.

i did the timing and it's right on 6*btdc and i've checked the wire and put them on according to the haynes book. The book doesn't list a change in wiring for the tpi engine, so i figured it's the same as a carbed engine and went with that diagram. I'm thinking that there might be a vacume leak on that pvc hose where it meets the intake manifold.
