2 questions. wiring.

There is a firewall passage and grommet on the pasenger side just above and next to the tranny bellhousing. It has some wires going into it and 2 vaccum hoses. I am curious what the 2 vaccum hoses were originally for, and if they are still active or not, because they are just dangling around and they are not even capped off. I might of even had a vaccum leak, who knows. I wonder if I can pull them through the firewall cut them off and cap wherever they go. can I do this?
question 2:
There is a black connector with 2 male flat pins and to female flat connections/holes. It has 2 wires going to it. ! wire is blue with black stipes and the other is black. The black wire is much thicker than the other wire. It is on the pass side of the car. Is this part of my a/c like my condensor or evaporator? If so, how do i remove the wiring clean? thanks

Where is the grommet in relation to the heater core tube openings?

Was/is the car equipped with air conditioning?

If you are asking about the connector that I am thinking of, the black wire is larger than the other, and the "gray" wire is actually light blue. Clean it and look more closely. The connector is arrange in a "T" configuration. Is this an accurate description of your "mystery" connector?

If this is your connector, it is the "ESC" connector:

Vader, thanks a lot for taking the time to help.
LOL. on the "Esc" thing. lol,..

---anyway, i misinformed you a little, it is a black connector. It does have a thicker black wire, and a thiner blue and black stripe wire. It is NOT coming from the hole in the firewall, it''s in the larger harness that sits near the middle of the firewall. I'm not 100% sure that it's the one in your pic,.. it's too small for me to make out. The connector is rather large and yes i did at one point have a/c. I dont' know what you mean by "t' shaped,.. it has 2 male pins on one side and 2 female slots on the other side of where it connects together.

---As far as the vaccum tubes in question, the grommet is 7" directly blow the heater core tubes.

---ALSO, not to throw a curve ball at you, but there is also a connector that used to go through my firewall, on the driver side, grommet that is under right of the steering shaft. it was taped in with the vaccum hose for the cruise control. It had 5 wires going to it, 1 was a ground that went to the fender. It had a blue w/ white stripe, orange, green and a light blue w/ black stripe plus the black ground. it was a grey female connector. i think it was for the a/c compressor or cruise control. I pulled it into the car,.. I want to disconnect that too, but i don't know how.

-----the vacum tube for the cruise is inside on the floor of my car now to. I hear you have to disconnect it at the pedal, but how do you cap it off and can you trace it back further than that?

I greatly appreciate all of your help!
-Justin
BTW, youre car looks really clean and mint,.. NICE job!:hail:

Im relatively sure those are your blower motor and A/C control wires and the vacuum tubes are to control the position of the vents and heater valves inside the car.
