My iroc almost doesnt' run when its cold, kinda like a carbed car in the winter, but worse, at least in a carbed car you can kinda feather the peddle to make it run OK, but with TPI running like crap when its cold, it just back fires through the intake and weird stuff like that until it warms up. Any ideas??

 

possibly the ecm, mine did that too, except yours sounds worse

 

Coolant temp sensor??

 

I see the car is an 85 so the early ecm and the 9th injector for cold start. That is where I would first look.

 

Is teh running fuel pressure (FPR vacuum connected) at least 34 PSIG? Any less than that, and you'll experience problems in open loop.

 

Run better with the MAF disconnected? Or during summer?
