Any one have trouble with engine after blocking off heat X-over?

When I changed the heads on my 92 305TBI to torquers I also switched to a blocked heat crossover gasket for the intake manifold. My chip is custom but not custom for no egr. Would this degrade my performance all by itself?

You might get a code 32 every once in a while, but that was the only problems I had.
