engine removal question

My motor is almost ready to be taken out. My problem is the bolts that hold the tranny to the motor. My question is, are there only four bolts that hold the two together. If so i have gotten the lowest one on each side out but i am having problems getting to the upper ones. Is there any special tricks or tools to do so. Oh, yeah almost forgot, its an 86 305 tpi with an 86 700r4.

well slick, theres a bit more than u think...

there are 3, yes 3 torqu converter bolts, 15mm are the size... you will need to remove them...

there are i think 6 bellhousing bolts, 9/16 i think.. there are two up top, i suggest long extensions with a swivel end on a 3/8 ratchet... i've heard people bending wrenches and using them as well, once u crack them loose, they are usually finger loose..

u can feel them with your fingers

It's a whole lot easier to get to the top 2 bell housing bolts with a box end wrench, from above.
