hi,

is there a way, where i dont need to drop the oilpan during the timing chain installation?

it is possible, just expect an oil leak when you're done.

You don't have to drop the pan entirely.....just loosen all the bolts so it drops down about a half inch. This is the only way to do it correctly and hopefully have no leaks when you're done.

and i dont need a new gasket? i mean, i cant put a new one on if the bolts are still there

And you won't need a new gasket. A little cleanup of the excess oil and a small bead of RTV couldn't hurt, especially since you'll be applying a little to the ends of the TC seal anyway. Don't get happy with the pan bolt torque either, or you WILL have a leak.

triming the lip off the back of the timing cover will help a bit on the reinstall. if you remove it entirely would eliminate the need to drop the pan if you do it a second time, but what's the odds of doing a timing chain twice?
