What does a miss sound like?
When I floor the gas my car doesn't sound right. I don't know how to describe the sound, but my motor doesn't purr or roar or anything like I would describe a healthy engine sound. It has a kind of groggy sort of bogging sound. Also in the morning when it's cold and the engine hasn't fully warmed up if I put my foot into it the motor hesistates and then jumps ahead . Could this be because of a cylindar missfiring? What does a miss sound like? Do anyone know how to diagnose my problem?

Shawn- sounds like you've got a carbureted car! Unfortuately, carbureted cars don't like to run smooth when cold. The trasition into the secondaries (Wide Open Throttle) is always problematic until the intake gets some heat in it to help fuel vaporization. The Rochester QJet is famous for this and there's not much you can do. But "not much" doesn't mean "nothing." You might want to drop a post over in the carb section of this board.
