How do you guys run your spark plug wires?
Okay, I know have perimeter bolt valve covers and my wire looms will not work anymore. Therefore, I will have to run the wires in a different route. I have Edelbrock's TES headers and it appears I will have to run it under the headers somehow. Anyone have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate it.
I replaced my VCs with chrome ones. Still centerbolt..but all I did was route each spark plug wire (considering length is not an issue) around the headers. Some wires went behind my runners, some went behind the air tube. If you have the length it's actually quite easy. You may want to get some firesleeving just in case.

I simply went down and around the TES header tubes. But, and this is very important, as theformula has mentioned, you might want to get some sheathing to protect them from the extra heat. Especially if your headers aren't coated.
You mentioned that you switched to the perimeter-style valve covers. While you probably can't use your old looms, there are wire looms out there for the older valve covers that keep the wires up and above the headers. In fact, looking at the new Summit catalog, page 114 shows a pretty nifty set by MadeForYou. Check 'em out. - John '89 L98

Mike,
Yes, there are some nice looms that hug the block and encase the wire pretty well (factory LT1 looms). There are also some stock (Packard Electric Division) heat shields for the plug boots that do a very nice job in preventing melted rubber.

On the 400 in my HO car and the HO TES (6874), they are exactly in the stock location in all the stock looms, except that on the right they are tie-wrapped to that little vertical brace for the strut tower because the TES doesn't have the little brackets for the 2 stock looms to clip onto. On the left they are in all the stock brackets including the throttle cable bracket, following the stock routing to a T. I am using regular AC Delco R44S plugs (186 heads) and Taylor Spiro-Pro wires with 90° ends, and have been for 25k miles on these wires so far.
Did I use the word "stock" enough in this post to make my point?

moroso makes some nice brackets for plug wires. if you want the best protection you can get for the wires and boots buy some nomax sleeves. not the best looking set up you'll find but you won't melt the plug wires either.
