Aluminum Heads on New model Chevy Trucks????

Is anyone running the aluminum heads off the newer model chevy trucks? Would the ones off a 5.3 work ok on a L98?

These heads still acept the same vortec intake as the cast iron ones dont they?

A couple of guys around here are running them at the track and are getting some good runs out of them.

Are they considered the "fast burn heads"

Anyone have any info on the truck heads?

Thanks.

the 4.8/5.3/6.0 engines in newer chevy trucks are in the LS family of engines, they are not a conventional small block chevy. basically, nothing from that engine will work on yours

Ok, I wasnt sure on that.

I guess these guys are running the Fast burn heads. I thought they were a stock aluminum truck head that they had.

Oh well. Too bad they wont work.

I have a 2000 GMC pickup with the 5.3 and I have Fastburns on my 86 Iroc and I can tell you the heads are in no way similar. It would be interesting to know if the heads on the truck are similar to LS1 heads or something else.

If they are really late model trucks with the 5.3, they're LS1 type heads, made of aluminum. They're also a stock head. There's no reason that a head can't be stock, and aluminum, and on a truck.

There's no way that those heads will bolt to your motor, unless you have a LS1.
