no underdam for radiator whil removing a/c rad. give me enough cooling

I`ve got a cooling problem on my 86 firebird LG4 it`s ok in the city but if im driving on the highway for longer then 45 min. it starts to overheat this is proabably because i have no underdam. I live in holland so it`s and expensive to buy and hard to find on a junkjard. I was planning on taking out the a/c anyway because it`s not working and in this country it`s never to hot to handle. Will removing the a/c radiator that is completely in front of the engine radiator give the engine enough cooling?
b.t.w my elec. fan is running constantly i know that is not good but it`s planned to be fixed.

you can make an airdam out of sheet metal that works as good or better than factory piece.
