fuel problems
heres the deal, the car is stalling when I exit the freeway. I checked the fuel pressure. It is 40 with the vac line hooked up to the reg. When I shut the car down and let it set, the pressure drops to 0 in a few hours. Is this correct, and how do I fix it.

i tihnk i'd be looking at the fuel regulator first. not 100% sure i'd read up on it a little in a manual for testing it. might be fuel pump, again check a manual to get the specs, but i think regulator.

other than the dying and a little rough idle, the car runs fine. does this still sound like the reg.?

And even if you are going to install a new regulator, you should always install a new filter to prevent trashing the new regulator with debris. So, you might as well do it first and get it out of the way. No one is going to think you've wasted your time if you're performing normal maintenance items - at least I won't.

filter is just a yr old (replace all of them annually, call me ****) tonight the car ran fine, but I am still worried about the leak down. What is the normal rate of fall from shut off. It seems mine used to hold pressure all night.

Jmon,
Theoretically, it should hold pressure forever. Mine holds for days.
The easiest thing to do to check leakdown is to block the regulator return line to the fuel tank. If you don't have the special Peterson Vise-Grip pliers with the rounded jaws made specifically for pinching off hoses, you can clamp the hose between two soft pieces of wood in a large 'C' clamp. Turn on the key briefly and watch the pressure gauge. If the pressure remains until the hose is released, the regulator is leaking through. If the pressure falls off immediately after the pump shuts off, the return line is not sealed or one or more of the injectors is leaking down.
Checking the injectors with an ohm meter for a 16_ resistance is not a valid test for flow nor leakage.

The rubber sections are on the driver's side - they are underneath plastic wire harness covers - just pull back the cover on the bottom (smaller) return line.

Jmon,
The lines are as I ROCK describes, shown just about in the center of the photo right behind the AC compressor:

still leaking down, if I sent the injectors to cruizin to get flow checked and stuff, would it solve my problem, or do I need new injectors?
sorry for all the trouble,

Jmon,
Cruzin' Performance will do an excellent job for you. Keep in touch with Rich via email, and you should get a full report of before and after flows and spray patterns on your injectors. If you have any unrepairable injectors, Rich will likely have replacements available in the correct flows.
Once your injectors are returned, you should not have to worry about them for quite a while. It is important, however, to install a new filter and flush the rails/lines before installing the cleaned injectors.
