What in the world..???!

While crawling under my car today (something I like doing from time to time) I realized my radiator didn't have an air dam on it. At least, I don't think it did. Every air dam I've seen looks like a ~3" tall piece of plastic that runs from the left side of the radiator to the right, and it's sticking straight down from the bottom of it. My car doesn't have that.

What it DOES have, however, is some weird piece of plastic that's attached to the front bumper. From there, it curves down a little bit (not quite as low as an air dam does), then back up, and then it goes about halfway up the radiator and it's got two holes in it that looks like it would funnel air into two spots on the radiator. The way it's attached at the front of the bumper would prevent it from scooping up any air from the bottom of the car... however... the front of my car has the setup where it's got the big oval hole, with the black piece going through the middle that says "CAMARO" (like I didn't know what kind of car I had), with foglights in the two holes on either side. The way the plastic is set up, it looks like it would scoop the air up from inside those.

Still, I've never seen anything like that. I was wondering if it was supposed to look like that.

As far as I can remember your supposed to have both. The one piece that curves from front to back and the 3-4" piece of plastic that runs from left to right....

At least those are what I have under my 89RS...

Just call any gm parts counter and tell them front air DEFLECTOR. Then it will be about 30 bucks. I said "air dam" and they wanted over $200 so you probably don't want that.
