Installing Oil Pan

I'm installing a new oil pan and it seems as though i have to take off the timing cover to get the gasket to fit in for the oil pan, am I correct in assuming this? Thanks.

no, you need to remove, or at least lower, the oil pan to remove the timing cover, not the other way around.
