400SBC question.
Is it possiable to stroke a 400cid chevy motor to a 427? I'm seeing kits to make it a 421 and a 430...but no 427. Can someone clear this up for me and let me know if i can make my all time favorite motor out of the 400 I have?
Thanks in advance!

a big block 427 has a bore and stroke of 4.250/3.760 respectivly, and a small block stroker 427 or 434 (.030 overbore) is a 4.125 (4.155)/4" bore/stroke
so don't think your going to have the same combo as a 427BB.
but to answer your question, look for a 434stroker kit, and either ask the company if you can get the pistons in a 4.125 bore (non-overbored) or chances are, your used 400block is going to need a .030 bore for matience, so you might as well just build it as a 434.
427-434 is the same as a
400-406
or
350-355

:hail: 427
Here's some 4" 400sbc cranks..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2448229572
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2448857835
Then you'll need some nice 6" rods, pistons and dont even think about using production cylinder heads on it or i'll kill ya
Hey did you send my junk yet?
