COLD WINTER STARTS... help?
so it's about 25 degrees when I decided to start my car today. It was cranking but when I let off the key it didn't turn over. I had to give it lots of gas for it to start, then hold the pedal for a few seconds 1/4 throttle or it would die. I've never had this problem ever before in the three past winters Ive owned the car. What could be the problem, and how do I fix it?
Someone mentioned that I should doublecheck my IAC. I cleaned it this past spring, maybe it's dirty again. I'll get a can of carb cleaner... but what else should I check?

You might also want to make sure the choke pull-off (see pic below) on the carb is working properly. I had mine go out on me and it was very hard to start and keep running. It is located on the passenger side of the carb. When you first step on the gas pedal before you start it, the pull-off should completely close the butterfly over the primaries. As soon as it starts up, it should slowly start opening them to keep the car running.
Also I found that in the winter I will usually have to pump my gas pedal a few times, turn it over a few times (to allow the fuel pump to pump some gas to the carb) while still pumping the pedal and then it should start right up and go to high idle.
