Suggestions for a new cam

Hey guy's I want to replace the cam in my '89 Iroc. It has a '91 Corvette L98 aluminum heads. The cam in it now is stock. I would like a somewhat radical cam but not one that is going to make my car not idle. What I'm looking for is a big power gain with fair idle quality. Any suggestions on a brand and specs would be appreciated. Any cam and lifter packages any of you guy's know of or are using? I don't plan on doing any head work just yet but the heads are on my list for future mods.

I can suggest a cam.

Comp Cams Xtreme Energy
Grind: XR258HR
Lift: .480''/.487''
RPM Range: 1000-5000 RPM

I think it's a good moderate cam, and should yeild good results. You MAY need some custom chip tuning with it, but I'm not sure.

I'm sure someone else can correct/help me out here.

Good luck finding the cam you want though!

To add to what equipment I already have. I have a Jet Off road Stage ll chip. The computer is that of a '90-'92. The plenum and runners are ported and has a BBK 52 mm Throttle body, Adj fuel regulator, MSD 6A ign HEI Mallory dist. Gears are 3.73's I think.

You MUST stay under .460 lift with those heads.

An LT1 cam would work nicely.

On that note, I've got a LT1 cam that I don't need. $25 and it's yours. Hit me on AIM at BadBlue91RS.

Can you send me the details about your LT1 cam and is it new or used? The price sounds reasonable. I don't use aim.

email about the cam's spec's to CALIROCZ28@msn.com
