My engine has a seperate belt for the air injection pump. If I cut the belt, how much more hp can I expected from the less drag on the engine? Would it be noticable?

I think if you remove the air pump, power steering, and a/c belts you might get a tenth or two.

It would be a performance placebo. It would give you an increased sense of ownership over your car by disabling a parasitical device imposed upon you by the EPA. Cutting that belt satisfies the rebellious impulse. Enuff of that psychology B.S...

The pump itself creates very little drag. It's the A.I.R tube extensions that stick into all eight exhaust ports that are a greater impediment. You might find a few extra HP by removing those 3" extensions. Just remove the AIR manifold and reach in with a 1/4" drill bit, or something like it, turn the bit until it "bites" and then pull each one out. Then put the AIR manifold back in and let the smog pump do its thing to keep the CCC happy.
