305 heads ona 350?

what compression ratio should i expect if i do this??? and is it just an over all BAD idea???...they are ported polished 416s, and will have 1.94 1.6 valves put in them...studs are pinned....wanting to put new springs in as well...anyways.....what CR should i expect?? 10:1? more? less?

It depends on what pistons you have in there and what the piston to deck height volume is. It also depends upon what head gaskets you are going to use.

no copper gaskets....regular .045 head gaskets will be used to avoid jacking compression too high. i believe they are Dish pistons....i know...laugh atmefor notknowing forsure....ill explain what they look like....Flat without the half moons like the L03 pistons have....they are flat with a rasedrim around the edge of the top of the piston....i MAY be going for forged pistons, i plan on running a 100 shot on it when itsall done....altho forged might not be needed for only a 100 shot....Again...ideas? forged or not? flat top or dish?

No the compression ratio will not be excessive.
Use 92 or better octane.
Use Champion RV8C sparkplugs and set the timing at 32-36 total at high rpm.

A good cam for those heads on a 350 is a Crane HMV-278-2

Or PowerMax H278-2 Or what ever they are calling it these days.

Very good for a NOS motor too.

Find the specs here www.cranecams.com

i think i should state....they are only going on for minimal time til i get the money for good heads.....this isnt a forever thing....i know they arent the best to use..its just what i have for now, and they are ported and polished pretty well.....1.84 1.5 valves though.....i doubt ill put much work into these heads since they prolly wont stay on for more than 6 months....but if i do, ill be seling some MEAN lb9s on here in 6months or so lol....

Assuming a 9.025" deck height, .044 thick gaskets, -10cc dish, and 58cc chambers it comes out to 9.72:1.
