Vibration

I have a 84 Firebird with a 305, the engine vibrates starting at about 1700 Rpm and get worse as the RPM goes up. This happens in Park and in drive so I dont think its anything past the transmission. Any suggestions on what to check?

A quick one is to take out the 3 torque converter bolts and slide the converter back into the trans (should go back 1/8" or more off the flex plate) and start the motor if it clears, and see if it goes away. If it does, it's the TC or trans.
